WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington Police have identified a pedestrian hit and killed Tuesday night.
Police say the man was Dennis Darnell Bradley, 63, of Wilmington. Multiple witnesses told police that Bradley ran into the the 600 block of N.3rd St., disregarding a “Don’t Walk” signal, when he was hit by a pick-up truck.
Police say the driver of the truck that hit him could not see Bradley because another vehicle stopped in the turn lane and shielded Bradley from the driver’s view.
EMS took Bradley to New Hanover Regional Medical, where he later died.
No charges are being filed against the driver of the pick-up truck at this time, police say.
